Gezer Boundary Stones, part 2

With Prof. Eric Mitchell

Survey archaeology catalogs the surface features around an archaeological site. In order to understand the context of a site, surveys are key. Such is the case at Tel Gezer, an important biblical site that was first excavated over a century ago. Now there are excavations going on in the Gezer water system, and around the Iron Age gate, and there’s a detailed survey around Gezer. In this program we continue a discussion with Prof. Eric Mitchell, of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, about how survey archaeology is done and what they found at Tel Gezer this summer.

First Century Fragment of Mark's Gospel

With Prof. Daniel Wallace

In recent years several scholars have claimed to discover fragments of New Testament scriptures dated to the first century. Those claims have not held up under the scrutiny of other scholars. But now Daniel Wallace, the founder of The Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts, and a professor at Dallas Seminary, has announced the discovery of a first century fragment of the gospel of Mark. More hyperbole or an authentic claim? We discuss prof. Wallace’s New Testament scholarship and the search for ancient scripture.
